If you answered 'yes' above, our Help Desk Support position may be right for you! The Support Technician is the primary point of contact when our clients phone in or email technical support requests. Due to daily interaction with supported end-users, it is essential for the Support Technician to deliver excellent technical support and customer-care services during each and every interaction with our clients.
At Binary Science, the Support Technician is responsible for responding to incoming support requests, which includes creating, assigning and managing service tickets. The Support Technician will troubleshoot & resolve issues via phone and/or remote control. Assist in preparing desktop & laptop computers for deployment. Troubleshoot and resolve desktop & laptop issues; in-house. Assist with server and network projects at the desktop level; in-house. Create and maintain technical documentation on an ongoing basis.
To be considered for this position, you must have experience with the following components/systems:
- Windows Operating Systems (Win98, 2000, XP)
- Wireless & Networking Technologies
- Internet Protocols
- Firewalls (SonicWALL, Netgear, Cisco)
- Working knowledge of MS Office, AntiVirus, Spyware & SPAM Solutions, Backup configurations and Remote Application Services (Citrix MetaFrame, RDP, Terminal Services, VNC, pcAnywhere).
- Current Cellular/PDA technology and functionality
Basic Requirements:
- Should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant hands-on experience
- Have a college degree, or actively pursuing a degree (Degree in Comp Science is a plus)
- A+ Cert and/or MCP is preferred
- Must be organized, have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage your time and company resources
- Valid Driver's License & Insurance/Reliable Vehicle
- Ability to move, lift and install equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
